A privately owned Postal History Museum in the heart of East Anglia. The collection has been built up over a number of years and now comprises 100 ex-British Post Office letter boxes together with 19 Stamp Vending Machines, documents, uniforms and associated artefacts.

Halstead 21st Century GroupAn  active group of residents who love our heritage and open spaces. We were galvanised into action in 2013 when a local woodland and heritage asset was threatened. Coming together as a constituted organisation and small charity has helped to strengthen our aim to promote and preserve as much of what's good as we can in our town and surrounding areas.
The Association has two aims: To maintain the history and spirit of Halstead Grammar School, and to promote communication between all former staff and pupils.

Through regular meetings,lectures, walks and events, the Society aims to provide an interest and awareness of the  local environment - its past, present and future, and its scenic beauty and wildlife.

The Essex Society for Archaeology and History is the county's major society for those interested in any aspect of the past. To be a member is to join a long line of enthusiasts dating back to the 40 or so who met at the old Town Hall, Colchester in 1852 to form a society (then called the Essex Archaeological Society) "for the purpose of reading papers, exhibiting antiquities, discussions etc."
The Warner Textile Archive, located in Braintree, Essex, holds an inspiring and unique collection of more than 60,000 textiles, 10,000 paper designs, pattern books, record books, photographs and documentary material. Elegant velvets and brocades are preserved alongside vibrant printed works, all reflecting the stylistic currents of their time.
